How to Help

We occasionally receive emails from those who have enjoyed the work of Idries Shah, asking us how they can help out. Here are a number of ways. Please contact us if you are interested in participating, or if you have any questions.

Book reviews

One of the best ways to spread the word about the Idries Shah books is by writing online reviews. We welcome reviews anywhere online: your blog, on Amazon, or on Goodreads. If you have written a review of an Idries Shah book on your own blog, please send us the link so we can share it online.

We are in the process of translating the Idries Shah Wikipedia page into different languages. We are looking for volunteers to translate and upload the copy into Wikipedia. It’s generally best if you have previous experience with Wikipedia, but if you’re eager to help, it’s something you can learn as you go.

Informal Translations

As you may have noticed from our Facebook page, we regularly share quotes from the Idries Shah books in both English and Spanish, and occasionally in other languages. If you would like to help us out by selecting a number of quotes from the Idries Shah books in your language that you think would be suitable for this, we are looking for volunteers in this area.

YouTube subtitles

We are also looking for volunteers to provide subtitles in a variety of languages for the Idries Shah YouTube videos. We currently have subtitles available in Spanish, and are looking for other languages. It’s generally best if you have previous experience with creating subtitles for YouTube, but if you’re eager to help, it’s something you can learn as you go.

We have been working hard at a number of initial projects, aimed at disseminating the work of Idries Shah in both West and East. A great amount of this work is being done online, and details will be available through the Friends Area here on this website.

The generous donations we have received to date have made it possible for us to send 32,000 books by Idries Shah and related Eastern classics to Afghanistan — where they will be distributed for free to schools, universities, and public libraries.

We would like to invite you to place a donation now. There are two main ways to support the ISF thorough a donation:

One-time Donation

Or, you may choose to make a one-time donation from one of the options below. If you would prefer to donate another amount, please contact us for another option. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Recurring Donation

You may prefer to set up a recurring donation.

Thank you!

As always, many thanks for your kind support.
